A beautiful hike in the monumental Wood of Sasseto that, despite not being included within the boundaries of the Nature Reserve of Mount Rufeno, is nevertheless identified as a site with very high naturalistic value and included in the European Natura 2000 network.

It is a portion of forest, remained uncut for many decades, in which centuries-old specimens of trees with very diverse characteristics, such as holm oak and beech, coexist with hornbeams, chestnuts, maples, oaks, as well as very rare specimens of holly tree and a rich and diversified undergrowth.
